Sun Server Appliance

Sun Microsystems sells special rack mounted 1U servers based on intel hardware, powered by linux.

In my case, Sun Cobalt RaQ 3 Server , its a AMD K3 300Mhz with 128MByte RAM and a 15GByte IDE disk
manufactured in 1999. The used linux is based on redhat with a modified kernel called 2.2.14Cxx.

Ive bought it second hand and upgraded the harddisk to 60 GByte.

Additionaly Ive modified the cooling system to reduce the noise. With success!
The cpu fan is completely disabled and the powersupply fan is temperature controled. Never the less,
wont the average temperature rise above 40 Degree Celsius.
